Hi Raerae

Generally speaking you would need to cut your insulin doses by half as a starting point. If you are on both short and long acting insulin then cut both by half and then monitor your levels. You may need to reduce further as you lose weight from the Opti as well. If the hypos are happening at a particular time them reduce the insulin that is working at that time

Wondering if anyone out there has found that they have difficulty keeping stable BSL's whilst on optifast prior to banding? My op is on 17th March, and have started the optifast challenge! Weight is coming off, but hypo's are harder to elude! Taking all my 20+years experience of Insulin use to manage. GP not much help.
